Newark's Finest

Well it is 8:50 pm on Monday, January 10, 2005 and Newark's finest has gotten James St between University and Eagle setup for a vehicle spot check zone. Now, this coming the night after another neighbor has had their car broken into for the fourth time since he has lived on the block. I have to say that it doesn't bring me great comfort to hear when someone has been violated in our community but my thanks go out to Director Ambrose for responding in full force so quickly. Now only if we can get this to happen more frequently so that the criminals will come to realize that this is not an area for the taking. So I am asking all of neighbors to call NPD when you see something happening because when more of us cry out then they will know that it is not only a few residents that are concerned but that all of us are.

Check back soon for updates on our meeting with the new Afican American Cultural Center at the end of the month a long with news about the 33 Washington St Parking Lot decision.

A meeting place of news, views & whatever else that matters.

Welcome to a central place where we as a neighborhood can keep current with all that happens in our community and voice our opinions about how we can make where we live a better place. I will add on all members that are interested in participating in the blog. All you have to do is send me an email saying you want to be added and then once it is done I will forward you an email with instructions. I truly hope that we can take advantage of this technology in way that will bring about a change in not only how we communicate with one another but how we live as a community.

Regards,

John Samon
